With less than a week to go before The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim launches on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (and the PC of course), PlayStation Access got their hands on the PS4 version of the Skyrim remaster. As expected the remaster showcases some major improvements in the way lighting is handled along with subtle changes in the game’s renderer.

Due to this improvement, the colors pop out even more giving a vibrancy to the image quality that was never present on the last gen console versions of Skyrim. You can check out the entire comparison through the video below. Furthermore you can expect a full comprehensive technical analysis of the game when we are able to procure our own copy sometime next week.

For more on Skyrim you can check out some PS4 footage showcasing the various locations in the game or the Xbox One footage which shows off several minutes of gameplay footage. Thoughts on this remaster? Let us know in the comments section below.
