Sniper Elite 5

Sniper Elite 5 the upcoming entry in Rebellion Developments’ World War 2 stealth series, recently received a new trailer that sees protagonist Karl Fairburne in action, all the while showcasing various scenes from the game.

Throughout the trailer, we get various looks at the game’s era-authentic WW2 weaponry in action, along with the series mainstay slow motion X-ray shots, and a couple of instances of environmental takedowns. As per Rebellion, the trailer has been captured completely in-engine.

Through a press release, the developers also mentioned that the game will feature a comprehensive suite of weaponry with a variety of customization and attachments, clocking in around 200 options (the most in any Sniper Elite game to date), ranging from scopes and suppressors to stocks, muzzle breaks, and much more. Customization will allow players to adjust their loadouts to fit a particular playstyle and take on missions.

The CEO of Rebellion, Jason Kingsley comments that they concentrated on enhancing the character and the feel of weapons, aiming to take the gunplay to the next level for this game. “Having conducted thousands of hours of playtests over the course of the franchise, it is clear that everyone plays the game in their own, unique way,” Kingsley said, “That is why we have developed the new weapon customisation system, allowing players to adapt their weapons to best suit the way they play and ensure that everyone enjoys the experience.”

Sniper Elite 5 is slated to launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, 5,  and PC on May 26. It will also be available day one via Xbox Game Pass.
