Out of nowhere, Sega has released Sonic Colors: Ultimate for Steam. The Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions are available and discounted for 30 percent off until February 13th. Several Sonic titles are discounted on Steam till the same date, like the acclaimed Sonic Frontiers.
As a remaster of the 2011 Nintendo Wii title, Sonic Colors: Ultimate sees Sonic and Tails venturing to an interstellar amusement park built by Dr Eggman. Their mission is to save the Wisps, who each grant special powers for overcoming various obstacles. In addition to improved visuals and frame rate, it includes a feature where Tails prevents Sonic from falling to his death.
The Jade Ghost Wisp from Team Sonic Racing, Rival Rush Mode against Metal Sonic and cosmetics unlocked via Park Tokens are also available. The soundtrack has also been remastered, though it falters in some places compared to the original. Sonic Colors: Ultimate is also available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via the Epic Games Store.
