With its impending release next month, Sega is hosting an open network test for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Starting on August 28th at 9 PM PT and ending on September 1st at the same time, it will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

During the network test, participants can play together online in World Match each day. The exception is Joker Festival (based on Persona 5’s protagonist) on August 31st, though details are sparse regarding the nature of this event. Grand Prix and Time Trial will be available as offline modes throughout the test’s duration.

Split-screen multiplayer is sadly not supported, and save data won’t carry over to the game. Nevertheless, as a means to experience the various Gadgets, vehicle customization, and portal mechanics, it’s great (and doesn’t require Nintendo Switch Online or PlayStation Plus for multiplayer). Head here for more details on the network test’s availability in your region.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches on September 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. It’s also out later this year for Switch 2.
