In what seems to be a shoutout to Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian, the Sonic the Hedgehog film has its own little mascot in Baby Sonic. Revealed in a new trailer, the design isn’t too far off from the current Sonic. Which is a good thing, make no mistake. Check it out below (and yes, that is the Intro music from Sonic Mania).
Sonic the Hedgehog’s first live action film had a very interesting year overall. The first trailer received huge backlash due to the design of Sonic, which led to the film being delayed to 2020 for a redesign. Of course, the redesign saw a much better response, even if the rest of the film is still very iffy at this point.
The redesign reportedly cost $5 million overall so it doesn’t seem to have been a huge budget sink. The film releases on February 14th 2020 for cinemas. We’ll see if nostalgia can propel it to success.
