People have been waiting a long time for Sony to finally unveil their PS5. And I do mean a very long time. While Microsoft unveiled their Xbox Series X last year, Sony has been tight-lipped about their next generation system. We’ve only seen the controller so far, as well as a technical breakdown of what’s under the hood. That’s why many had their heart beat skip a little when Sony finally announced a big PS5 blowout later this week (though it’s not clear if the system itself will be unveiled, games for it definitely will be). Unfortunately, it seems we’ll have to wait a bit longer.

As announced on the official Twitter, the event will no longer take place on Thursday, June 4th. Due to the protests and riots ongoing in the United States, it seems Sony felt it best to push back the showcase. If you aren’t familiar with what is happening in America right now, you can check out many international news outlets for more details.

Sony didn’t clarify when the event has been pushed back to, most likely waiting for the temperature to cool down a bit. We will, of course, keep you updated for when they announce the follow up.
