Sony Is looking At Licensing Horizon: Zero Dawn For Merchandizing Opportunities

Horizon Amiibos coming up!

Horizon: Zero Dawn

Horizon: Zero Dawn, the promising looking action RPG for the PS4 from Killzone developers Guerrilla Games is not even out yet (it does not launch until 2016), but Sony is apparently already looking into a licensing program for the IP, which it believes presents it with huge merchandizing opportunities.

“The epic feel of the game, its breathtaking visuals, strong character development, imaginative combat sequences, and the marketing weight of the PS4 release all combine to make this a hot property for 2016,”SCEE licensing manager David Evans told Licensing.biz.

He added: “Guerrilla Games have created a lush post-apocalyptic world that players simply won’t want to leave and licensed merchandise offers consumers a way to extend that extraordinary experience into their everyday lives.”

I mean, I think that is putting the cart before the horse here (I would at least wait for the game to be out first, and be successful, as it inevitably will be, before I started with these pushes), but hey, what do I know.

As long as I get a Horizon Amiibo out of it, I will be good to go.
