Sony Reveals The 20th Anniversary PlayStation Console

The simple beauty of the PlayStation has just been modernized .

This is, in my not entirely humble opinion, the single greatest celebratory console design to have ever graced the video game scene. The Limited Edition Titan Fall Xbox One was pretty nice. But it does not hold a candle to the 20th anniversary edition of the PlayStation 4.

The PlayStation 4 has received a new facelift for it’s 20th anniversary edition that was unveiled today by Sony and it beautifully recreates the look of the original PlayStation with its lovely matte dull grey colour scheme emblazoned with the Sony PlayStation emblem in the upper right corner (if viewed vertically). It’s also embossed with a sequence of Circle, X, Square and Triangle impressions, as is the Dualshock touch pad.

Each console is numbered and is part of a limited production run that, one would assume,  isn’t going to be re-released. This is one for the folks like myself who are avid collectors of video game memorabilia, or even just hardcore PlayStation fans. Honestly, I love this little grey box.
