As 2019 ends and 2020 begins, we’ll officially be entering the year when next generation consoles will release. We’ve already seen our first look at Microsoft’s next offering with the towering Xbox Series X (or technically just the Xbox). We haven’t seen Sony’s PS5 just yet, though we’re getting bits and pieces about it, and we’ve seen one of the launch titles it’ll have. Sony will have another platform to potentially drop some details next week as well.
The CES (Consumer Electronic Show) will kick off next week, and Sony has teased some new and exciting tech for the show. In a blurb on their official website they boldly say “The future is coming” with the promise of “bringing creativity and technology together like never before, to unleash new sensations and emotions.”
It is pretty bold, but before getting too excited and warming up your hands, the CES is not a gaming focused show usually, and Sony still has an ongoing business centered around televisions and other similar electronics that are typically featured here. Gaming news has come from the convention before, however, so it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility we might get some nuggets of PS5 news. CES 2020 will begin next week, and we’ll keep you updated if any good news comes out of it.
