Sony Says Playstation Network Going Strong, PSVR Picking Up Steam

VR Sales are "in line with expectations" despite rumors of disappointment

While there have always been problems with Sony’s PlayStation Network here and there, the company believes the network is going strong. During the Sony Corporation’s Quarterly Financial Conference Call, Chief Financial Officer Kenichiro Yoshida talked about the PlayStation Network and the performance of the business in general.

During the call, the executive announced the PlayStation Network has managed to increase revenues by as much as 40 percent over the last year. In general, the network is showing some serious momentum. In addition to that success, the company said it is having some pretty good success with the PlayStation VR as well.

While that format hasn’t been incredibly successful, it does seem like the platform is at least living up to expectations if not surpassing them. The exec also talked about the mobile games that are going to be releasing this spring. Yoshida said the games are going to taking care of existing IP as well as new ones.
