Sony Skipping Gamescom Again? Exhibitor List Revealed

Like last year, Sony may opt to skip Gamescom altogether.

The official list of exhibitors for Gamescom 2016 has been revealed, along with the floor plan for booths, and interestingly enough Sony isn’t listed.

That’s pretty much as close of a confirmation to the publisher’s absence as you can get. Last year, Sony missed Gamescom and instead chose to focus on Paris Games Week to show off its games. It wasn’t a bad strategy at all – we saw more of Media Molecule’s Dreams and Quantic Dream’s Detroit: Become Human – but it’s interesting if this will be the pattern going forward.

Other studios/publishers scheduled to appear include Activision Blizzard, Bandai Namco, Bethesda Softworks, CD Projekt S.A., Deep Silver, Don’t Nod Entertainment, EA, Blizzard Entertainment, Neocore Games, Nintendo of Europe, Oculus VR, Perfect World Europe, Rebellion and even Konami.

Maybe Microsoft will capitalize on Sony’s absence to once again have a decent showing? We’ll find out in the coming weeks. Gamescom 2016 starts on September 21st.
