Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for SoulCalibur 6, the long-awaited sequel in its vaunted weapons fighting game franchise. This one features gameplay with Mitsurugi, the Samurai of the franchise who’s been a mainstay from when Soul Edge first launched. Given how SoulCalibur 6 takes place between the first and second titles in the Calibur series, it’s good to see Mitsurugi in his younger state.
Along with gameplay, we also get producer Motohiro Okubo’s thoughts on what went into Mitsurugi’s creation and how he’s the closest the series has ever had to a Samurai. In between, we get a look at some of the more hard-hitting moves and combos that can be pulled off. If SoulCalibur 6 is anything like the older games, it’ll certainly take some skill to fully master its warriors.
SoulCalibur 6 doesn’t currently have a release date but it will be out this year for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The wait shouldn’t be too long – the developer confirmed back in December that development was already 70 percent complete.
