“Soulframe” Trademark Registered in Europe by Warframe Developer

Warframe has been one of the best and most popular live service looter shooters on the market for almost a decade at this point, with its frequent updates, addictive gameplay loop, and free-to-play nature being just a few among several reasons that have contributed to its immense popularity. Interestingly, it seems like developer Digital Extremes might be preparing to branch off and try something new as well.

Digital Extremes recently registered a trademark for “Soulframe” in Europe. At the risk of stating the obvious, that sounds like it’s going to be related to Warframe, but what its exact nature will be remains to be seen. The easy guess to make here is that it’s a new Warframe expansion, but we wouldn’t be entirely surprised if it ended up being an entirely separate game- perhaps a sequel or a spinoff.

Of course, with TennoCon 2022 set for July 16, it’s possible that we end up hearing more about Soulframe, whatever it is, at the event. Either way, we’ll keep an eye out for more updates, so stay tuned.
