Spider-Man PS4 Developers Attempt To Stem Controversy Over Missing Suit In New DLC

Although their attempts really didn’t end up going down well, to be honest.

The newest DLC for Spider-Man includes a brand new suit for Spider- Man to wear, which is inspired by the suit Spider-Man wears in the just released hit animated movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. However, what should be a cause for celebration and fan service has sparked off a fair bit of controversy, because there are fans who feel Miles Morales’ suit should also have been included.

Responding to one such fan on Twitter, the official Insomniac account questioned exactly why Peter Parker (the Spider-Man you play in the game) would wear Miles Morales’ (a future Spider-Man) suit. In and of itself, this would be a sound argument that would shut the door on any and all dissent, but fans pointed out that the game also includes two Scarlett Spider and 2099 suits, neither of which Peter would wear, going by that justification. Insomniac really didn’t have an answer to that, only saying that in their universe, Peter wears the 2099 and Scarlett Spider suits, but not the Miles Morales one.

I guess they are trying to save that one for the inevitable sequel in which Miles takes over the Spidey mantle? Spider-Man is available now, exclusively on the PS4.
