Splatoon Releasing on Wii U in May

The arena combat shooter's release month was pinned down in the latest Nintendo Direct.

Splatoon

Arena shooter Splatoon will be out in May on the Wii U according to Nintendo in its most recent Nintendo Direct stream. As of now, there aren’t any fixed release dates but that narrows it down significantly.

Splatoon is a third person shooter but is much different from the usual arena combat title. You’ll be teaming up with three other players and have to paint levels with a single shade. There will be an opposing team though and you’ll have to splatter them with paint lest they interrupt your colouring session. Characters have the option of switching between human and squid forms with the latter capable of traversing across the paint splatters quickly. This is especially useful when moving across enemy paint which slows down your human form.

What are your thoughts on Splatoon and will you be playing it when it’s eventually out? Let us know in the comments.
