Square Enix announces Final Fantasy Legends

Posted By | On 22nd, Jul. 2010

Square Enix has yet another mobile release lined up for later this year.

This continues a theme of phone games by Square Enix, with Chocobo Panic and Chaos Rings and re-releasing Final Fantasy I and II for iOS devices just in the last year alone.

Early screenshots may provide a trip down memory lane for FF veterans, with graphics reminiscentof the 2D 16-bit games of old.

In typical Final Fantasy style, the game involves a young boy trapped in a conflict for powerful, mystical crystals.

Square Enix expects the game to be available in Japan from September, and will be freely downloadable, with added installments ranging in price from ¥315 and ¥525 each (~$4.50).

So far there is no mention of a western release, but if Square follow their normal trend it should be hitting the US and UK sometime next year.
