Square Enix has opened up a global portal for the Final Fantasy franchise, which ostensibly will act as a hub for Final Fantasy news worldwide going forward. Okay, this part is standard for all websites. If you go on there now, you can check out some consolidated information on all the recent major releases in the franchise.
The important thing to note here, as Gematsu points out, is the timing- given that the web portal has gone up right ahead of E3, and that Square Enix is already confirmed to be hosting its own stream during E3, there seems to be the indication that new news for the franchise may be coming up. There is every possibility that some Final Fantasy related announcement comes out of E3- whether pertaining to the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, or to something else entirely.
As for what it might be, we don’t know- but we’re excited to see where the future of the franchise may lead it.
