Cloud Imperium Games has released a new video for Star Citizen’s single-player campaign Squadron 42, showcasing the complex environment of the Coil. In the video, the game’s developers discuss how the Coil was made along with what kind of challenges players can expect to face in this area.

We get to see some impressive concept artwork of the Coil in the video as well as some in-game footage of the area. The developers also go on to discuss the many challenges faced to ensure that the volumetric clouds are rendered smoothly while still being playable. It’s definitely impressive to see the attention to detail given by the developer in designing this area.

The game will receive its update 3.1 in March and the developer has a lot of content planned to be released throughout the year. Keep in the mind that the game is still in its alpha phase and it will certainly be a while before the full game is released. You can check out the video on the Coil below.
