Star Ocean The Divine Force

2021 marks the 25th anniversary of Square Enix and tri-Ace’s Star Ocean series, and to commemorate the occasion, at the recent State of Play, they announced the next mainline game in the series, Star Ocean: The Divine Force. The action RPG will release for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2022.

Like previous games in the series, Star Ocean: The Divine Force will tell a story that blends sci-fi and fantasy with a large cast of characters hailing from different backgrounds. Expect your choices to impact the way the story progresses, while the Double Hero system will return as well, with each character coming from a different background and offering unique characters and stories.

Large environments are going to be fully explorable in 3D, while players will also have the option to freely fly around. Meanwhile, developer tri-Ace is also promising “the fastest and mightiest action” in a Star Ocean game to date. You can learn more about the game in its PlayStation Blog announcement post through here.
