EA and DICE’s Star Wars: Battlefront launched with a paucity of content, but the hope was that with persistent post launch support, of the kind that DICE has been known to provide, the game would come to match the diversity of different kinds of game mode and content that Star Wars Battlefront II had back in 2005.
Apparently, this won’t he happening- well, the game will be getting a hefty amount of post launch support from DICE, because they’re awesome like that, but it won’t be getting anything of the kind of content that the old game saw. So, space battles? Yeah, they were missing from the game at launch, and they won’t be coming in via DLC either.
Neither will content from The Force Awakens, the just released, massively successful new Star Wars movie- the game will continue to focus on the original trilogy, in spite of The Battle for Jakku DLC, that was such a nice segue into potential Force Awakens era themed content for the game.
It’s a shame, but hey, I made my peace with the new Battlefront game being disappointing a long time ago.
