The expectation from sequels is almost always that they’ll go bigger and better than their predecessors in every way possible, and Respawn Entertainment is certainly making that promise where Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is concerned. The developer has talked about and shown off a number of improvements the sequel is making over 2019’s Jedi: Fallen Order in several key areas, and it seems another area where it’ll look to expand its predecessor is its runtime.

When asked in a recent interview with Wccftech about roughly how long Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is going to be, though design director Jeff Magers was reluctant to put a number on the game’s length, he said in no vague terms that the game is going to be considerably bigger and more densely packed than Fallen Order was.

“We can’t put a number on that,” he said. “What we can say is that it’s greatly expanded from Fallen Order. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a good deal bigger than Fallen Order, so hopefully, players will be able to find a lot to explore and enjoy for a long time.”

Senior producer Blair Brown added, “Both the story and the exploration are much, much bigger than the last game.”

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a pretty long game in and of itself, with a main story that could take roughly 20 hours, with enough content to add another meaty chunk of playtime on top of that, so it seems like Jedi: Survivor is going to pack in plenty for players as well.

Plenty of gameplay details have become available on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor of late courtesy of a recent round of hands-on previews, including its combat, planets, cosmetic customization, and more. Respawn has also confirmed that the game will feature five difficulty levels, one more than Fallen Order, while its DualSense implementation on the PS5 has also been detailed.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is due out on April 28 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
