Plenty of new details have emerged on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor thanks to a recent round of hands-on previews, and it’s also been confirmed that the sequel will be adding a new difficulty setting that wasn’t present in its predecessor.

Respawn Entertainment has confirmed to Sirius Gaming that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will launch with five total difficulty modes, as opposed to Fallen Order’s four, with “Jedi Padawn” being the new addition. The Jedi Padawan difficulty will be the second-lowest option available, sitting between the Story Mode and Jedi Knight difficulty levels, with the latter being the “normal” difficulty.

That’s because as per the developers, about 40% of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s players selected the Story Mode difficulty, and the skill gap between it and Jedi Knight was perceived to be too wide by many. Wanting to bridge that gap and let players progress through the difficulty options in a more organic manner, the development team decided to introduce a fifth option that would sit between the two.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is due out on April 28 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
