Massive Entertainment is going the extra mile to ensure Star Wars Outlaws is faithful to the brand, from the sound effects to mini-games like Sabacc. However, it also features a special mode to replicate the cinematography of the classics.

As revealed on the PlayStation Blog, there’s a 21:9 cinematic mode in Outlaws, which not only grants a “widescreen effect” but resembles the lenses used to shoot the original trilogy. Since the title takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, it makes sense to replicate the look. Nevertheless, this is a nice extra for long-time fans of the franchise.

Other unique additions include Explorer Mode, which omits all the yellow paint guiding one to ladders, ledges, and whatnot, thus making for more organic platforming. Read more about that here.

Star Wars Outlaws launches on August 30th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Check out ten things you should know about the title based on brand-new gameplay.
