Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm: Blizzard Extends Beta For Pre-Purchasers

If you pre-purchased the game before December 20th, then good news!

Blizzard made a pretty weird decision to split Starcraft 2 into three games, but with the success the first game Wings of Liberty has seen, we’d say it was well worth the risk.

The next title, Heart of the Swarm, has already been reserved by many eager gamers and Blizzard has a treat for all of those dedicated fans: If you pre-purchased the game digitally on Battle.net before the 20th of December (previously before the 18th), then you’ll be able to gain access to the beta for Heart of the Swarm.

Does that mean that gamers who haven’t pre-purchased the game before the 20th don’t get access? Not necessarily, but their addition to the beta will be done on a weekly basis where the lucky ones who pre-purchased will be granted immediate access. Quite a clever way to see which of you maniacs is more dedicated than the other to the cause, eh?

Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is set to release on March 12th 2013 for PC and Mac OS X.
