Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the upcoming addition to the franchise of Zergs and Zugs, Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm will feature the ability to customize your own user interface.

Blizzard posted about the same, giving instructions on editing the game’s resource directories directly to make these changes. They won’t be included directly in the game client, so casual gamers might want to read up on Blizzard’s advice before tinkering.

But for the hardcore – and tournament organizers – this can be viewed as a small blessing. Gamers can adjust the size of the interface, change fonts, add or subtract features and even insert user-made assets.

This means you can make the screen as free-flowing and uncluttered as you’d like and when you have audiences in Korea who watch Starcraft 2 tournament finals like hawks, it’s easy to see why it’s an appreciated addition.

Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is set to release on PC on March 12th 2013.
