It’s been quite some time since Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone announced Stardew Valley’s update 1.5. Touted as adding “lots of new content”, we’ve seen teases of this and the promise of new end-game pursuits. In a new tweet, Barone has unveiled another new feature – split-screen local co-op.
This is available for up to four players on PC, though on some platforms it may be limited to just two. The screenshot also provides a few hints for the new content, like the ability to put torches on fence posts, new machines, a farm that’s located on sand and much more. Overall, it seems there’s a lot to look forward to, even for non-endgame players.
Stardew Valley’s update 1.5 doesn’t currently have a release date and Barone hasn’t projected any thus far. Stay tuned for more details on that in the coming months. The last major content drop was update 1.4 which added over 60 new items, a bunch of cosmetic options, two new monsters and 14 new tracks. Read more about that here.

Yup! splitscreen will be coming to console and PC, though the number of simultaneous players might vary (on PC, you will be able to have up to 4, but on some platforms it might be limited to 2)
