State of Decay may not be the biggest property Microsoft have in their disposal, but but the 2013 cult classic certainly has a pretty dedicated and respectably large fan base. Given the success it say, both critically and commercially, it’s no surprise that Undead Labs are returning with a sequel, and in every sense of the phrase, State of Decay 2 looks bigger and better. With its launch drawing ever closer, now feels like a good time to take a look at some of the game’s most notable features and aspects, which is what we’re going to do in this feature. Without further ago, let’s get right into it.

THE SETUP

State of Decay 2 will pick up a year and a half after the first game, but it won’t really have a single linear story to tell. The focus, instead, will be on on a dynamic narrative of a community in this harsh zombie post-apocalypse. What does that mean in layman terms? Well, exactly what it looks like- it’s going to be less a scripted narrative and more about player made moments, reacting to the choices you make in gameplay and how you choose to grow the community you’re a part of.
