Steam gift cards have always been a dicey proposition depending on where you lived in the world but now Valve’s popular online store has made it easier. It’s launched digital gift cards, thus letting you send cards to friends to presumably buy games with.

The digital gift cards are available in five varieties – $5, $5, $10, $25, $50 and $100. You won’t be able to find the gift card options by typing in the search bar though so head here to this page to find them. Digital gift cards can only be sent on Steam to those whom you’re friends with. You also can’t send more than one and Steam Wallet funds can’t be used to buy them.

The timing of the digital gift cards is pretty good with the Steam Halloween Sale rumoured to go live tonight and the Steam Black Friday Sale and Steam Holiday Sale to follow in the coming months. If ever there was a time to splurge on gift cards, it would be now.
