SteamWorld Quest - Hand of Gilgamech

The latest title in Image and Form Games’ SteamWorld universe is out now for the Switch with SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech. Unlike previous titles, which have ventured into Metroidvania and squad-based tactics, SteamWorld Quest is a turn-based RPG with cards. Check out the launch trailer below, if you haven’t already.

Available for $24.99 on the Nintendo eShop, SteamWorld Quest mixes medieval dragons and fantasy with steampunk robots. The art-style relies on hand-drawn animation along with the signature humour that’s adorned the series. You’ll be traipsing around the map on adventure, partaking in battles, finding gold and earning XP.

The punch-cards are where things get interesting. Players can customize decks of cards for their party members which contain different attacks and abilities. There are over 100 cards in total which can be crafted and upgraded over time. SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech is only on the Switch currently. It will come to other platforms in the future.
