Street Fighter V Guile

Capcom’s Street Fighter 5 will be receiving a new update later today, bringing Guile in as a free character until the in-game shop is finally good to go. However, Street Fighter 5 fans may need to exercise patience as the game’s servers will be down for today.

As noted on the SFV Server Twitter, “In preparation for the Guile update we will be taking down the #SFV servers from 8AM PT to 6PM PT tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.”

The update itself will be available at 7 PM PT though so there isn’t much to miss. Along with the addition of Guile and his classic Air Force Base stage in a new avatar, the update will also add a system to punish those who quit frequently during matches.

Creating and connecting to Battle Lounges will also be easier and matchmaking improvements have reportedly been made as well. Time will tell how effective this “rage quit” punishment system is though. Read up on the full patch notes, including fixes to character moves, here.
