Street Fighter 6 - Ingrid

Ingrid is now officially a member of the Street Fighter 6 roster. Alongside the update bringing the character in, Capcom has also confirmed through a social media post that this will be the last bit of content added to the fighting game’s single-player World Tour mode.

All Street Fighter 6 roster members so far have been represented in the World Tour mode, where players can take on challenges with their own custom characters. As part of the mode, players can also learn moves from the various members of the game’s roster, and in this regard, Ingrid will be no different. However, no future characters will show up in the game mode.

“Please note that Ingrid will be the final character to receive additional World Tour story content upon release,” said the company on social media. “Previously added World Tour content will remain playable.”

Capcom has been quite deliberate with its wording, noting that future characters won’t be coming to World Tour “upon release”. Whether this means that there are plans to bring in future characters with later updates remains to be seen.

As for player avatars being able to learn the new roster members’ moves, it should still be possible through the Avatar Arcade mode. The announcement essentially means that there are no more plans for additional story content for the World Tour mode.

It is worth noting that World Tour has consistently been a pillar of the single-player game modes in a genre that is otherwise known for multiplayer. The World Tour offers a full single-player story campaign and gives players plenty of customization options for their custom characters. While there is quite a bit of emphasis on exploration, the game mode also revolves around fighting several enemies across 1-on-1 traditional Street Fighter-style battles, as well as multi-man brawls. Throughout the mode, players can meet iconic Street Fighter 6 characters, including Ryu, Chun-Li, and others. Each character has their own short story campaign, and in the process, leads to the player learning their moves and even unlocking their outfits for use on their own avatars.

In the meantime, Ingrid’s arrival in Street Fighter 6 has been celebrated with a brand new trailer, giving us a look at her World Tour content, which includes the player avatar having to interact with the strange new character for her story. Along with World Tour, Ingrid also has her own Arcade story, combo trials, and customization options.

For a better look at Ingrid, you can check out the trailer released earlier this week showcasing some of the versatile character’s moves. While she has a complete moveset that gives her plenty of options to control the distance between her and her opponents, her moves can also be powered up by making use of Sun Crests, which have to be generated in the heat of battle.

Ingrid’s arrival also brings with it new game modes, like Random Avatar Matches, which pit players against each other in multiplayer bouts on equal footing. Avatar Arcade, on the other hand, is a single-player mode that gives players a chance to unlock special rewards and progress their avatars.

Street Fighter 6 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
