Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League suffered significant backlash following its co-op gameplay showcase and behind-the-scenes developer video. However, there have been rumors of WB Games and Rocksteady Studios delaying the game to Q4 2023 or even 2024. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier said the staff were reportedly told a release could still happen this year, but they “still don’t know when.”

Even if delayed, the chance of the live service gameplay loop changing is unlikely. Interestingly, some people working on the title have reportedly been “quite optimistic” about the combat and the world. VGC editor Andy Robinson heard that this is “not another Gotham Knights.”

“It’s interesting because some of the people I’ve spoken to who are working on that game actually have a lot of positive things to say about it, especially compared to Gotham Knights,” he said on the VGC Podcast.

“I’ve been told that this is not another Gotham Knights, that everyone who’s working on it is quite optimistic about the combat loops they’ve made and the game world and things like that.” Based on all this, Robinson said he would “kind of be surprised if they’re really rebuilding it in any significant way because it sounds quite positive.”

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is officially still releasing on May 26th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. A delay isn’t confirmed, but time will tell. Stay tuned in the meantime for more updates. In the meantime, check out our feature on what a potential delay could mean for the title.
