Super Mario Odyssey First Review: A 10/10 From Edge

Let's do the Odyssey.

Posted By | On 11th, Oct. 2017

Super Mario Odyssey is going to be a masterpiece. All indications are that it will end up being an even better game than The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which was already one of the greatest games ever made when it launched earlier this year.

And now, we have started to see the first indication that the game will end up living up to the gargantuan expectations that surround it. Super Mario Odyssey has received its very first review ever – from EDGE – and it has gotten a rare 10/10 from them. This makes it the 20th game ever to receive this top honor, the fourth game this generation, and the second game this year (after Breath of the Wild).

It remains to be seen whether or not the game ends up receiving this kind of reception from other outlets (including from us at GamingBolt)- however, assuming it does, it may end up with aggregate scores similar to Breath of the Wild, which, with a Metascore of 97, is the highest rated game of the last 9 years, and one of the highest rated games of all time.

Super Mario Odyssey launches on October 27 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
