Super Smash Bros Revealed for Wii U and 3DS: Mega Man and Animal Crossing’s Villager Join Cast

The brawl begins again.

Nintendo finally unveiled the next Super Smash Bros, coming soon for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in 2014. While the handheld version saw a slightly more cartoony style, the Wii U version was in full 3D and featured a ton of returning characters such as Samus, Link, Kirby, Bowser and many more.

But more surprisingly were the announcements for the new fighters joining the roster: Animal Crossing’s Villager and Capcom’s Mega Man. While the Villager can use different tools to counter and damage opponents, Mega Man plays very much like the classic 2D side-scrolling games.

He can shoot regular shots with his Buster Cannon, unleash charged shots and switch weapons, from dual blades to a flaming sword. Mega Man is ready to rock, it seems – and he won’t be facing just Smash Bros. characters when all is said and done. Sadly, both games won’t be arriving till next year.

Stay tuned for more news and updates from Nintendo Direct.
