That Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is selling well surprises no one, but it’s recently crossed a very impresses landmark as far as sales are concerned. During their recent quarterly financial meeting, Nintendo provided updates sales figures for several of their games, among which was Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, standing at 15.71 million units as the second highest selling Switch game to date.

As Digital Trends notes though, there’s something else that’s notable about that figure- it now means that Smash Ultimate has become the highest selling fighting game of all time, having overtake Street Fighter 2, with the latter having sold 15.5 million units to date. What’s even more impressive is that it’s managed to do so in less than a year.

Doubtless, with the game’s sales keeping pace and with more new content coming upSmash Ultimate will continue to sell well for some time to come. The game is out now for the Nintendo Switch- you can read our review for it through here.
