Super Street Fighter 5 Coming Soon, Free Update to Base Game – Rumour

Remaining Season 2 and Season 3 heroes also revealed.

Capcom has insisted that it won’t split the current Street Fighter 5 player base with a new version. However, it seems that Super Street Fighter 5 could indeed be coming but as a free update for owners of the base game.

According to Reddit user Rikurikumore, Super Street Fighter 5 will contain an Arcade mode, extra battle mode, a PvE mode for fighting the Illuminati and an overhauled UI. The mechanics will also be expanded with new Critical Arts to be added.

Though the overall legitimacy of the rumour is to be doubted, the source did note that Abigail, Menat and Zeku will be the remaining Season 2 characters for the current game. Season 3 will have Sagat, C. Viper, Q, Necro, Oro and Sakura as the six new characters.

Even if these rumours turn out to be true, Super Street Fighter 5 will likely be announced at the Capcom Cup (held in December for the past two years). That makes it likely to release in 2018. What are your thoughts on the rumour though? Let us know in the comments.
