Switch Leads Even As PS4 Surges In New Media Create Charts

God of War and Switch games have incredible holds.

It’s Wednesday, which means the latest Media Create sales charts for Japanese hardware and software are upon us. As has been the case for most of this year, barring a few weeks following the launch of Monster Hunter World, the Nintendo Switch leads the hardware side of things, with almost 39,000 units sold. With 35,000 units sold, the PS4 ends its weeks-long slump and lands in second place on the hardware charts.

On the software side of things, the top performers were the PS4 and PS Vita versions of Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2018 respectively, with God of War coming in at third place with an incredible hold. Nintendo’s Labo took fourth place, with a steep decline in weekly sales, while Nintendo’s evergreen software- Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild– all saw week on week increases. Which is a bit crazy.

With Golden Week coming up soon, we should hopefully be seeing more exciting Japanese sales charts too. Things have already started to get a bit more exciting now than they were just last week.
