Microids has announced that Syberia: The World Before will be releasing on March 18th for PC. It will be available on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store. In a new tweet, the publisher stated that it wanted to provide “the best possible experience and pay a massive tribute to Kate Walker’s epic adventures envisioned by Benoit Sokal.”
It also revealed that the additional weeks allowed for developer Koalabs and Microids to feel “confident about delivering the game you deserve.” For those who enjoy the soundtrack, which is composed by Inon Zur (who’s also working the score for Starfield), it will be available on vinyl when Syberia: The World Before launches.
Syberia: The World Before is set in two time periods – Taiga in 2004 with Kate Walker as she struggles to survive in a salt mine and Vaghen in 1937 with pianist Dana Roze. While the latter’s career is taking off, the fascist Brown Shadow begins to loom over Europe as World War 2 begins. The link between the two forms the core mystery of the adventure.
Along with Sokal’s iconic world, the sequel also promises complex puzzles and riddles that should appeal to series’ fans. For console players, Syberia: The World Before is still slated to release this year so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
