Dubbed “Project C“, it’s coming to PlayStation 5, though given the company’s multi-platform stance, it’s highly unlikely to be an exclusive. No other details were provided (as seen in the screencap below via WCCFTech) but there’s already the assumption that this is Motive Studios’ Dead Space remake. As always, we’ll have to wait for more details.

EA Play Live 2021 will be 40 minutes long – confirmed announcements include the launch trailer for Apex Legends – Season 10: Emergence, Lost in Random (which could receive a release date) and Battlefield 2042. Stay tuned for more details when the show goes live.

The next Dead Space is expected to use the first game as a “strong foundation” but with some new gameplay mechanics “inspired” by other games in the series and modern visuals. After the more action-oriented Dead Space 3, it seems the remake could return to a more survival horror style of gameplay. Again, time will tell but it’s good news for fans.

The remake is expected to be announced at EA Play Live which takes place on July 22nd at 10 AM PT. Electronic Arts has already confirmed that the event will run for 40 minutes and feature titles like Battlefield 2042, Lost in Random and Apex Legends among others. BioWare’s next Dragon Age and Mass Effect titles will not be appearing though.

BioWare confirmed on Twitter that it was “hard at work creating the next @dragonage and @masseffect
games and have some exciting stuff coming to @SWTOR this year.” It thus won’t be “showing anything” at EA Play Live, though the next expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, Legacy of the Sith, has since been unveiled. While the next Mass Effect was only announced at The Game Awards 2020, the next Dragon Age was confirmed at The Game Awards 2018 so it seemed likely that the latter could appear.

Unfortunately this won’t be the case but that doesn’t rule out either title from receiving new trailers at other events down the line (like, say, The Game Awards 2021). EA Play Live is also rumored to feature announcements for a new Dead Space title and Battlefield 2042’s multiplayer alpha so there should be some significant announcements. It will broadcast live at 10 AM PT on July 22nd so stay tuned for more coverage.

Electronic Arts has confirmed that their next Play Live event will take place on Thursday, July 22nd. That’s more than a month after E3, which is scheduled to take place from June 12th to 15th. This year’s E3 will be an all-digital event. EA is one of the handful of publishers that has not committed to supporting E3 this year, joining the likes of Activision, Sony, and Epic Games.

Fans of the Battlefield series may not have to wait until July to see what is going on with Battlefield 6, however, as DICE has teased a June reveal. EA also recently announced EA Sports PGA Tour, so we might be getting more information on that in July, as well as that other Star Wars game EA is allegedly working on.

Microsoft, Nintendo, Warner Bros., Take-Two Interactive, Capcom, Koch Media, and Ubisoft were listed as initial partners for the event. Since then, the ESA has confirmed that Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Sega, Xseed Games / Marvelous, and Gearbox will all also be in attendance at E3 this year. Freedom Games, Devious Eye Entertainment, Turtle Beach, Verizon and Binge are also set to attend.
