HTC has revealed that it is working on a new standalone VR/AR headset that will hopefully offer some competition to the Meta Quest 2.
The newest VR headset from HTC is coming soon.
The company quickly shot down the rumors.
The console model for VR, again.
Pre-orders open on February 29th, 7 AM PST.
Most of the focus will be on the upcoming HTC Vive.
"We shouldn't make our users swap their systems later just so we could meet the December shipping date."
The VR headset created in collaboration with Valve will be out next year.
Limited quantities to be sent to developer and community systems this year.
The name may not imply it, but this is a horror game with zombies and stuff.
And Game of Thrones (the TV show) as well!
However, HTC and Valve will offer "the most premium VR experience the world has seen".
HTC says Valve is "very keen" to have games like Dota and Portal on its VR headset.
It is called Vive.
