The $49.99 edition includes the base game, all paid expansions, several cosmetic packs, and a complete lack of graphical upgrades.

Remember when banners appeared for Tom Clancy’s The Division – Definitive Edition? It’s now available on the Xbox and PlayStation Stores for $49.99. No, this isn’t a joke – it was shadow-dropped with about as much fanfare as Ubisoft seemed willing to muster (which is none).

A quick peek at the Xbox Store indicates support for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Since PS5 isn’t listed on the PlayStation Store, this likely refers to previous-gen console versions being backwards compatible. While Xbox Series X/S had 60 FPS support for a while, PS5 players only recently received the update last December.

And aside from including all three paid expansions – Last Stand, Underground, and Survival – alongside two cosmetic packs (Let It Snow and Parade) and six outfit packs, that’s pretty much it. No improved visuals or new gameplay content. It replaces the Gold Edition, which is no longer available on either storefront. However, you can still pick it up on Steam.

As disappointing as all this is, at least Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 has a lot more coming up. In March, a new Realism Mode will become available for a limited time, offering realistic bullet damage, minimal HUD and all leveling elements removed. It’s also getting another year of content, including a few “surprises.”

While Ubisoft hasn't made any announcement, The Division Definitive Edition might be a current-gen remaster or a Switch 2 release.

Ubisoft has been working on more content for its multiplayer cover-based looter shooter The Division 2, as well as on a sequel. However, when it comes to the first game in the series, it has largely been left behind. However, as caught by Reddit user MrEpicFerret, a large banner was recently spotted at one of Ubisoft’s esports events indicates that there might be plans to bring the original The Division back in some sort of remastered form.

The banner refers to Tom Clancy’s The Division Definitive Edition—a title that Ubisoft has made no mention of in the past. While there is plenty of speculation about what this could be, with some wondering if it is part of some plans to re-release both of the older The Division titles on current-gen platforms, others have posited that it might be part of Ubisoft’s plans to bring more of its games to the Nintendo Switch 2.

The Division was released all the way back in March 2016, so an impending announcement also sounds more likely as it would coincide with the title’s tenth anniversary.

The banner for The Division Definitive Edition features highly-stylized art depicting an agent of the eponymous Division standing in the foreground, with the skyline of New York City in the background. This skyline also has a darker reflection on the lower half of the banner, showcasing how the city is crumbling away due to the major catastrophe that kickstarts the story of The Division.

Looking to the future, series producer Julian Gerighty had spoken earlier this month about how development on The Division 3 was going since the title’s 2023 announcement. While he didn’t reveal too many details, he did note that “it’s shaping up to be a monster.”

In the meantime, The Division 2‘s developers have also been working on The Division 2: Survivors, which will serve as the return of the fan-favourite Survivors mode from the original The Division. The project was unveiled back in August, and had been described at the time being an “updated take on the survival extraction experience.” The new take on the Survivors mode is being led by The Division‘s creative director Magnus Jansén, and was said to be in “early stages” of development at the time.

2025 also saw the release of the second major expansion for The Division 2, dubbed Battle for Brooklyn. Much like 2023’s Warlords of New York, Battle for Brooklyn once more took players to New York City, this time in the eponymous borough. The story is kicked off with players taking on the Cleaners as part of efforts to rescue Dr. Jessica Kandel, before eventually escalating to a major plot that threatens the entire world.

For more details about The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn, check out our review, where we gave it a score of 7 out of 10 thanks to its solid mission design, new gear sets, and good blend of nostalgia and value for money. We also criticised extensive technical problems with the PC, as well as the lack of new objective types.

The line-up allegedly includes Assassin's Creed Mirage, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Rainbow Six Siege, The Division 1 and 2, and more.

The Nintendo Switch has boasted solid support from Ubisoft throughout its lifetime. However, it looks like the publisher will step up its efforts with the console’s imminent successor. That the Switch 2 will likely boast stronger third-party support owing to its allegedly stronger hardware has looked likely for some time. According to insider NateTheHate, Ubisoft will be one of the publishers leading the charge in that department.

Speaking during a recent podcast episode, the leaker claimed that Ubisoft has “more than half a dozen” games in development for the Switch 2. These include ports of upcoming games, recent releases, and older titles. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will allegedly be available for the console within its launch window, while a version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is also in development. However, the latter allegedly won’t be ready for release until later.

The insider also claims Switch 2 versions of Rainbow Six Siege and The Division franchise are in development. The idea of a combined Mario + Rabbids pack containing Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has also been internally considered.

Past leaks have also claimed that Ubisoft also intends to release the next Far Cry for the Switch 2.

Given the publisher’s support for the Switch, it wouldn’t be surprising to see an increase in efforts for its successor. The Switch 2 itself is allegedly going to be revealed later this week, so we might have more official details sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile, as per NateTheHate, other major third-party titles like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth are also headed for Nintendo’s next console.

A new report claims that Ubisoft currently has no plans to work on a third mainline instalment for the franchise.

Nearly four years on from launch, The Division 2 is continuing to receive support by Ubisoft and developer Massive Entertainment (though it has hit a bit of a snag recently), but understandably, series fans are beginning to wonder how long it’ll be before the next mainline instalment releases. It turns out, however, that it might not be anytime soon.

As per a report published by Tom Henderson on Insider Gaming, The Division 3 is not currently in development and is not part of Ubisoft’s plans at the moment. While it’s unlikely that the company will continue to hold off a new mainline The Division game indefinitely, the report alleges that for now, it’s not something Ubisoft is focused on.

Of course, the company does have a couple of other projects in the series in the works, including free-to-play title The Division Heartland and mobile game The Division Resurgence.

One would assume that The Division 3 is something that Ubisoft will eventually get around to, given the success of the first two instalments, but given the fiscal troubles the company has run into of late, there’s no saying for sure how long it’ll be before that happens.

In addition to the ongoing The Division 2 and the upcoming The Division Heartland and The Division Resurgence, Ubisoft's shooter series is also allegedly getting a battle royale game.

Ubisoft clearly has big plans for The Division as a franchise- or at least seems to think that its flexible enough to be able to branch out in multiple areas for the company. The Division 2 is, of course, continuing to receive content, while Ubisoft also as free-to-play title The Division Heartland and mobile game The Division Resurgence in the works.

As it turns out though, there might be even more in the development that Ubisoft hasn’t yet spoken about. Journalist Jeff Grubb recently said during an episode of his Game Mess Decides podcast that the Ubisoft has a standalone battle royale game in The Division universe in development. Apparently, the game was in the works a while back but got cancelled last year due to negative responses from playtesters.

After the shuttering of Hyper Scape though, Ubisoft allegedly decided to bring the game back, since it really wants a successful battle royale game. According to Grubb, the company is retooling the battle royale The Division title, which will also have some roguelite elements.

As things stand right now, the aforementioned The Division Heartland is expected to launch sometime before April 2023, though given all the recent Ubisoft delays and cancellations, it’s hard to be too sure about any of the company’s plans right now.

A Ubisoft Forward event is set for September 10, where, among other things, the company will talk about the future of Assassin’s Creed.

The Specialization Revamp is still in the works with Massive announcing a release date when it's "absolutely satisfied with the quality."

The Division 2 is in its ninth season but still going strong. Developer Ubisoft Massive confirmed release months for Season 10 and 11 along with announcing a public test server for the next Title Update. However, some would have no doubt noticed the lack of any mention of the Specialization Revamp in Year 4.

According to the developer, it’s “still working on the feature” and will only announce a release date “when we are absolutely satisfied with the quality.” The good news is that The Division 2 will have a Year 5 thanks to the support of Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Toronto and Ubisoft Shanghai (which also worked on Year 4). No news yet on what can be expected so stay tuned in the coming months.

As for The Division on mobile platforms, announced in May 2021, there will be an update in the “very near future.” The current roadmap indicates an announcement this month so stay tuned. Red Storm Entertainment is working on The Division Heartland with closed testing ongoing. Those who wish to participate can sign up here with more information coming at a “later date.”

Season 11 starts in December and adds a new mode along with new gear and weapons, two new Apparel Events, a new Manhunt and more.

Ubisoft Massive has provided a new updated roadmap for The Division 2, confirming the start of Season 10 in August. Players must own the Warlords of New York expansion to access a new Manhunt, new Countdown difficulties, new gear and weapons, and two Apparel Events. New Legendary difficulty Strongholds (Tidal Basin and Manning National Zoo) and quality of life improvements are also inbound.

A public test server for Title Update 16 is also coming next month to garner feedback on new Countdown difficulty options. As for Season 11, it’s planned for December with a new game mode, new Manhunt, quality of life improvements, new gear and weapons, and two new Apparel Events coming. The next Special Report livestream will discuss the new mode along with Season 10’s quality of life improvements so stay tuned.

Season 9: Hidden Alliance is live and added the new Expertise System. It faced some issues in the first week but seems fine now. The Division 2 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia along with supporting Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
Due to more Proficiency Points earned from kill XP than intended, the developer has recalculated the same with affected players having lower Proficiency.

Ubisoft Massive’s The Division 2 had a pretty good comeback recently with the release of Countdown, Expertise, a new Gear Set and new Exotics. Unfortunately, a rollback in Proficiency has caused some issues. Recently, the developer discovered a “mistake” in the amount of Proficiency Points gained from kill XP, focusing a recalculation of all player progress.

With the current Expertise level cap being 20 in Season 9, anything higher would be an issue. The rollback brings the level back to where they should be and affects all upgraded items. In response, SHD Caches will be doled out to all affected players as compensation. However, there’s no guarantee that you’ll get the same amount of materials invested.

So if you invested Exotic materials to increase a weapon’s Proficiency and it drops from 20 to 15 after the latest rollback, those materials are potentially lost forever. Donations are still fine, as per product director Morten Ryberg. Players also aren’t losing any kill XP gained thus far but simply receiving the correct amount. Ubisoft Massive has said nothing about the lost Exotic materials though.

Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime. The Division 2 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia with support for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

The newest season introduces Countdown mode where eight players split into two teams and cooperate to stabilize a power plant.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 has finally received its newest season, bringing some new content to the cover-based looter shooter. Season 9: Hidden Alliance sees players taking on a new target in Captain Lewis along with battling four True Sons members. Check out the overview trailer for more details.

The biggest highlight of Season 9 is Countdown, a co-op mode where two teams of four players each must stabilize a power plant in 15 minutes. Each starts in different locations, working their way through together while battling some “familiar foes” and eventually extracting. Also, starting on May 12th, players can use the new Expertise system to upgrade damage, armor and skill values on their equipment.

This can be done using various items (with more variety resulting in increased values). On top of this is the new Heartbreaker gear set, some new named items, Exotics and more. If you purchase the Season 9 Pass, then additional rewards can also be unlocked.

Those wanting to get into The Division 2 can partake in the free weekend which runs from May 13th to 15th on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Google Stadia, Ubisoft+, Amazon Luna and PC via Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store.

Some enemies can be pretty annoying to deal with, and here's a rundown of 15 such enemies.

Most action games have a variety of different enemy types, each with its own sets of strengths and weaknesses. When they all come together in interesting permutations and combinations, it creates a highly dynamic combat system that’s fun to engage with. That’s rarely the case though, as certain enemy types can make even the best encounters annoying to get past for a variety of reasons and factors. To that effect, here are 15 annoying enemy types that you will find in most games.

The one with the shields

While it would make total sense for every enemy to take a guarding shield into battle, most starting-level enemies in games don’t carry them which opens up a ton of opportunities to defeat them. But when certain games do it right from the beginning, it becomes a rather annoying issue. These enemies will block most frontal attacks, you get extremely restricted in your move set which in turn makes such enemy encounters highly repetitive.
