Ubisoft Massive’s The Division franchise is entering the mobile domain with The Division Resurgence. Following last week’s debut trailer, Ubisoft has released an official gameplay walkthrough and an interview with executive producer Fabrice Navrez. Check both of them out below.

The story is separate from The Division 1 and 2, taking place before the first game in New York City. As part of the First Wave of the Strategic Homeland Division – which would later infamously make up some of the most dangerous Rogue Agents – players meet new and returning characters. The Base of Operations in Manhattan is unchanged, and the signature cover-based gameplay is retained.

Key differences include the UI, completely reworked for mobile devices, and the Specializations. Along with some new Specializations like Vanguard, each has its unique abilities. The Demolitionist, for instance, gains access to the Seeker Mine. Navrez also confirmed that players can change Specializations whenever they want, allowing them to shift their play style to adapt to their team’s needs.

While designed for shorter sessions, The Division Resurgence facilitates 2-3 hour sessions as well. It’s also confirmed that the closed alpha would begin this month. Head here to sign-up for the same.
