Xbox boss Phil Spencer says that work on bringing Activision Blizzard's back catalog to Game Pass started only recently, owing to how long the acquisition's approval process took.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (for console and cloud) and From Space are also joining the service's catalog in the coming days.
Jim Ryan also says that with nearly 50 million PlayStation Plus subscribers, Sony has a more "meaningful" service than Game Pass.

If Game Pass doesn't see enough growth outside of consoles in the coming years, Microsoft might not stick around in the games industry.
COCOON, The Lamplighters League, and Party Animals are also set to join the service's catalog in the coming days.
Its library will include the likes of Gears 5, Fallout 4, Forza Horizon 4, Inside, Stardew Valley, and many others, with updates coming 2-3 times per year.
Meanwhile, Heart Machine and Annapurna Interactive's action platformer Solar Ash will also be joining Game Pass.
Microsoft seems to have quietly nixed its $1 trial pricing for Xbox Game Pass, which had previously been reduced in duration from 30 days to 14 days.
Developer Jump Over the Age has confirmed that like is predecessor, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will launch day one on Game Pass.
Sad Cat Studios' sci-fi action platformer was previously set to launch for PC and Xbox consoles sometime in 2023.
Over the coming days, Game Pass subscribers will also get access to acclaimed indie titles Firewatch and Gris.

New and lapsed subscribers could previously purchase a 1-month subscription for just $1, though that period has now been reduced to two weeks.
Microsoft will reportedly introduce a new base subscription tier for Game Pass, which will also include a library of over 25 free games.
However, Microsoft believed that it could make up for the losses "through upside to Game Pass and increased console sales."

Returning subscribers with expired subscriptions and new subscribers can once again join in for an introductory $1 price.
