While it may seem full speed ahead to Grand Theft Auto 6 for Take-Two Interactive – and for good reason, given the magnitude of the release – the publisher has much more in store for the future. Beyond the usual sports titles like NBA 2K27, PGA Tour 2K27, and WWE 2K27 – not to mention Judas from Ghost Story Games and 31st Union’s Project ETHOS – it also has multiple remasters and remakes.
As noted by Take-Two president Karl Slatoff in the company’s fiscal earnings call, there are plans to release six remakes, remasters and “platform extensions” throughout fiscal years 2028 and 2029. That’s excluding the three new core IPs and seven sequels that are in the works.
The first thing that comes to mind is Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake, which Remedy Entertainment is developing in partnership with Rockstar. It’s also possible that Red Dead Redemption 1 re-releases on other platforms in the future (far-fetched as that sounds). But is it too much to expect rumors of the long-awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 remaster to be true?
Of course, “platform extensions” is another key term, and for all we know, it could encompass bringing Grand Theft Auto 6 to PS6, Project Helix and PC. If so, then it wouldn’t be surprising for PC players to see a port sometime next year, if not in early 2028.
