Tales of Arise 2

At Microsoft’s E3 conference came the official announcement of the new game in the long-running Japanese RPG series, Tales of Arise. The game looks to be a pretty big graphical leap up from previous efforts in the series. And, for those wondering, you don’t have to be up to date on those previous efforts to enjoy the game.

We know the basic gist of the game’s story, in which two planets are in a bitter conflict, and two protagonists, one from each world, are thrust into an unexpected alliance. The series has an on and off again relationship with continuity, with some Tales games being direct sequels/prequels to others, with others being standalone. According to a new blog post from Producer Yusuke Tomizawa, it seems with Arise they are off again. The game’s story will be a standalone tale, unrelated to previous games (thanks to DualShockers for the translation).

Tales of Arise will release sometime in 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
