Due out in 2024, Tales of the Shire is described as a "heartwarming" game where players will experience a "cosy Hobbit life".

In August of last year, Private Division and New Zealand-based studio Weta Workshop that they were collaborating on a new game set in the Lord of the Rings universe. That game has now been officially unveiled as Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game.

Revealed with a brief teaser trailer, details on Tales of the Shire are scant, but Private Division describes it as a “heartwarming” game that will see players experiencing “a cosy Hobbit life”. Presumably, that suggests the game might feature some sort of life sim elements, though the developer and publisher haven’t shared much by way of specifics. Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game is set to launch sometime next year. There’s no word yet on what platforms it will be targeting. Stay tuned for more details on the game in the coming weeks and months.
