Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is launching in January 2019, finally bringing the beloved fan favorite to the modern age. The remaster seems like it has quite a bit of work put into it, and no matter what system you play it on, you will get a good visual upgrade out of it.

The official website for the remaster has been updated, telling us the frame rate and resolution we can expect for the game across all systems. The PS3 version of the game (which never came over to the west) ran at 720p, with a framerate of 30fps on the overworld, and 60fps in battle.

In contrasts, the Switch and Xbox One versions of the game will run at 1080p, with the same frame rates (the Switch version will cap out at 720p in handheld mode, because that’s the resolution of the handheld screen). The PS4 version also runs at 1080p, but runs at a steady 60fps throughout. The PC version of the game runs at a steady 60fps throughout, and supports resolutions up to 4K.

Given that no specific details for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X versions, it seems like there won’t be any enhancements for those consoles. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition launches on January 11, 2019. Make sure to check out the newest trailer for the game, if you are interested in picking it up.
