Tekken x Street Fighter

Believe it or not, Tekken x Street Fighter – the crossover fighting game featuring Tekken and Street Fighter characters in development at Bandai Namco – is still alive.

Director Katushiro Harada spoke to Polygon about the same and stated that there are 40 team members currently working on it.

“It’s very difficult to talk about. Obviously, I had originally planned to release it much earlier than we’re currently looking at.”

The main reason for the delay appears to be the saturation of the market by fighting games. This doesn’t mean Tekken X Street Fighter is never coming out but it won’t make a typical return. “People have been talking about the game for such a long time that they aren’t going to be surprised if you just release it normally.”

As for Tekken 7, Harada said that the game is currently the dev’s next “big thing” while work continues on Tekken X Street Fighter. Stay tuned for more information whenever it arrives.
