From Mortal Kombat 3

Such a beautiful voice – Sindel (0:36)

We’ve all gotten annoyed at the various people in our lives for nagging. Overly concerned parents, a whiny girlfriend, whatever. Having experienced a large portion of these irritations, I can only thank the heavens that they aren’t as bad as Sindel. Sure, being pestered to take out the rubbish bins can rub you the wrong way but, at least after being nagged, my skin stayed attached to my body.

A crushing blow – Sektor (0:42)

Any time I get in a lift I always have the odd fear of the metallic doors closing on me. I doubt they’d have the force to crush me entirely, but the concern is always there. Sektor’s crushing fatality makes me realise the reality of my personal crushing terror. There sure are a lot of bones that fly out from between those metal plates. Brutal stuff.

From Mortal Kombat 4

Scorpion time – Scorpion (3:54)

Scorpion was definitely one of my favourite characters in the series, but I always felt he never quite lived up to his name. MK4 changed this with his scorpion fatality. It doesn’t even really matter what he does in his scorpion form. The fact that he transforms into one is enough to satisfy my strangely anthropomorphic desires.

From Mortal Kombat Gold

Over the top – Cyrax (8:12)

Some of the fatalities in the MK series are fairly extreme. Ripping off flesh, crushing bones; it’s all designed to humiliate your opponent by going one step further than necessary. Cyrax takes this principle a bit too far. What initially looks like a classic bomb and run, turns into blowing up the entire planet. Way to go Cyrax, you just had to take it too far.
