Nintendo’s upcoming Pokemon X and Y expand the ways to receive in game DLC (the ‘Mystery Gift’) by also making it possible for players to redeem codes to get special in game bonuses and Pokemon. Now, Tesco in the UK have announced that they will be offering purchasers of Pokemon X and Y from their store a special serial code that, when redeemed, will let players get a dozen Quick Balls.

Quick Balls, for those who do not know, are special Pokeballs (the items used to ‘catch em all’) that are stronger than regular Pokeballs if used right at the start of the battle (as opposed to regular Pokeballs, that usually require the opposing Pokemon to be weakened a little before they are effective). Usually, these are best for Pokemon that have a propensity to flee right at the start of a battle, such as Abra or roaming legendaries.

Pokemon X and Y launch worldwide October 12 on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.
